“The more visibly you live your femininity–whether in clothing, the way you move, speak, or present yourself–the more often you have to prove that you’re more than a projection,” explains Ruby O. Fee regarding ongoing outfit criticism. Many people categorize women who consciously dress revealingly and deny them certain qualities based on their appearance. But the 29-year-old confidently states, “Don’t worry, my brain works even in a bikini.”

But in Brazil, we lived for a longer time in a mini-hippie village in Bahia, where I felt very safe. I had many friends, could roam freely, and for the first time in my life, I had a house number I could remember. The sea was only ten minutes away. It felt like home for the first time. When it became more civilized there, we moved away.”
