If you want to know what might soon be trending here, just take a look at Copenhagen. STYLEBOOK editor Katharina Regenthal was on-site and identified the shoe trend for the summer.
When it comes to style, Scandinavians are hard to beat. They are miles ahead of us in fashion trends, doing so in a calm and stylish manner. During my visit to Copenhagen, I encountered countless well-dressed women of all ages. One thing that immediately caught my eye was the shoes of Danish women. Regardless of age, it seemed like every other woman was wearing flip-flops. And not just with summer dresses, but also with business outfits. Here’s how you can embrace the flip-flop trend.
Classic Flip-Flops in Simple Design
Fine leather flip-flops are frequently seen this year–the version with a small stiletto heel is also trending. However, in Copenhagen, simple models were favored. Without heels, classic synthetic material, just like the flip-flops you know from the beach.
Popular colors included black, brown, metallic, and softer tones like pink and vanilla yellow. The outfits were generally simple, sporty-chic.

5 Flip-Flop Looks for Every Day
Bermudas and Flip-Flops
Bermuda shorts paired with flip-flops are the perfect summer look for the city. Danish women often wear a casual top or vest with it, along with slim sunglasses and a hat or scarf.
Flip-Flops with the Business Look
As mentioned, flip-flops in Copenhagen are not only worn with casual everyday outfits but also with business looks. I frequently noticed the combination of suit pants and blazer, often with Bermuda shorts in a suit style. Hair was worn either down or with a large clip.

With Jeans and Vest
The perfect look for a not-so-hot summer day is flip-flops combined with wide jeans and a loose vest. Add a silk scarf worn as a bandana, sunglasses, and a colorful hair clip–and you have the Danish look.
Flip-Flops with the Summer Look
Of course, flip-flops are also worn in the usual summer look–with a bucket hat, shorts or miniskirt, and a large shopper. The combination of a loose shirt and bikini top with flip-flops is also casual and nicely airy for a hot summer day.
Mini, Midi, Maxi
Whether mini, midi, or maxi–dresses and flip-flops are a good and especially relaxed solution in summer. If you choose rubber flip-flops in black or metallic, they look quite upscale and can be paired with slightly dressier dresses.
