Asics: The Surprising Number One

Hardly any other brand has experienced such a boom in recent years as Asics. In 2024 in particular, the label is showing its best side and is the fastest growing sneaker brand on StockX with impressive growth of 600%. Asics’ success is based on the enduring popularity of its running models, which have left the world of sport and arrived in street style. Models such as the Gel-Kayano 14 and the Gel-1130 have taken social networks and fashionistas by storm.

Newer silhouettes such as the Gel-NYC and the GT-2160 have also contributed significantly to the brand’s success. These sneakers are characterized by their combination of comfort, functionality, and a touch of retro aesthetics—a mix that delights sneakerheads and fashion fans alike.

Retro Vibes at Adidas

Adidas also caught up considerably in 2024 and almost doubled its sneaker sales. Classic models such as the Samba (+86%), Gazelle (+312%), and Spezial (+722%) are particularly popular. These retro sneakers are a real perennial favorite.

One brand that will also be on everyone’s lips in 2024 is On Running. With growth of 63%, the Swiss brand is one of the top performers on the sneaker market. Models such as the Cloud 5 and the Cloud Monster are the best sellers in the range.

The Newcomers Causing a Stir

In addition to the established brands, there are also two exciting newcomers to watch out for in 2024: Saucony and Salomon. Both brands have managed to make a name for themselves in the sneaker world in a very short space of time.

Saucony, known for its running tradition, has attracted attention with an impressive growth of 93% on StockX. Collaborations with hip labels such as Bodega, Jae Tips, and Callen Schaub have been particularly successful, giving the brand a significant boost in popularity. Saucony has managed to find the perfect balance between performance and style, making the brand popular with both runners and the streetwear scene.

Salomon is another brand that is on the rise in 2024. Originally known for its high-quality outdoor and trail running shoes, Salomon has now also established itself in the fashion world. With robust, technically sophisticated models that are both functional and stylish, Salomon appeals to a broad target group. Models such as the XT-6 and the Speedcross are currently extremely popular and dominate social networks.

Crocs, on the other hand, continues to rely successfully on creative partnerships and recorded growth of 52%.
